Every year, since 1986, in Barga (Lucca) takes place Barga Jazz a famous Festival- Music competition that celebrates Jazz Music.
This will be the XXIV edition of the Festival, starting on the 19th and ending the 27th of August.
The Festival was originally born as an arrangement and composition competition for Jazz Orchestras.
Besides the changes and inprovements of the last years, the competition is still the central part of the Festival.
This year’s edition is especially dedicated to Italian Songbook: the relationship between jazz and italian music.
In the year of the 150 years celebration of the birth of Italy, the festival celebrates the italian contrinuition to Jazz Music.
