If you are visiting Florence with your family from June to December 2010 I have good news for you. There is a new project in the city called “Florence for Family” that consist in a mix of art and science for  children and parents. The idea behind this project is to mix the nature world with science and art: around animals, skeletons and old scientific instruments kids are going to learn and have fun.

Experience – nowadays kids are attracted of the practical world: they want not only to see things, but also to touch them. Inside the museum now children can interact with objects and be part of the history. The museum is now a game!

For example: during a guided tour at the Galileo Museum your children are going to have the possibility to touch a Galileo telescope. No, in fact it’s even better than this: they can change lenses of the telescope and will be able to understand how far the human eyes could go when Galileo was living… and this means about 400 years ago!

The Medici and Lorraine collections of scientific instruments housed in the Galileo Museum are among the most important in the world. The visit includes demonstrations of functioning antique instruments.
