Tuscan Houses

We are not renting or selling any house, we just want to share some photos of the most beautiful houses in Tuscany! Do you know how a traditional Tuscan house looks like? First let’s talk about interesting facts: nowadays it seems a crazy thing, but in the past houses didn’t have a bathroom. This means: no bathtubs, no shower, no wc, nothing! Water came from wells and it was almost a luxury. Of course nowadays when an old traditional Tuscan house is restored at least one bathroom is included. Tuscan houses generally had stone walls and small windows to keep the house warm in Winter and cold in Summer. The ceiling was made of terracotta or stones and nowadays you can enjoy the nice colors of flowers, there are many of them everywhere!

Every Saturday AroundTuscany selects the best photos of Tuscany found on Flickr. We choose a certain subject and we select some pictures taken by people we don’t know: maybe from a traveler, from someone who lives in Tuscany… the point is to show you the “real Tuscany”.
