The third edition of the Walking Festival in Tuscany started on April 16th on the island Capraia, a place that I deeply love for its wilderness and the colors of its sea!
The spring edition of the Walking Festival will end on May 8th, but the second cycle of events is scheduled for the autumn.
During the Walking Festival opening in the tiny little Capraia Ile, the guest star was Patrizio Roversi, a famous Italian traveller who became popular for its TV show “Turisti per Caso” (which is now a web site and a newspaper, too) in which he and his partner, Siusy Blady, wondered around our beautiful world.
Mario Tozzi, a geologist who also works for Italy’s public tv, attended the Walking Festival opening in Capraia, too.
Here’s the schedule of all the Walking Festival’s dates:
- National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago
from 16 April to 8 May 2011 and from 24 September to 1 November 2011 - Park of the Apuane Alps
from 14 May to 26 June 2011 and from 15 October to 13 November 2011 - Park of Migliarino, San Rossore, Massaciuccoli
from 3 September to 30 October 2011 - Regional Park of Maremma
from 1 October to 31 October 2011 (approximate dates) - Interprovincial Park of Montioni
from 15 September to 15 October 2011 (approximate dates) - Provincial Park of the Hills of Livorno
on dates still to be decided - Parchi della Val di Cornia

In the mean time, enjoy Isola di Capraia’s photographs I took during my summer vacations
