The world of fashion creativity gets together again in Florence. It’s Pitti’s week: buyers, journalists and visitors from all over the globe are in the city of art to check on Pitti Immagine Uomo n.77 and Pitti W_Woman Precollection 5.
The Voglio Vivere Così Social Media Team was there and we were impressed by many beautiful clothes, shoes, belts, accessories… As it’s almost impossible to talk about all of them, we decided to select the best of it.
What’s fashion about

An installation with an imposing ribbon for collecting words, phrases and suggestions from the protagonists of Pitti Uomo welcomes visitors in the Fortezza da Basso forecourt.
We could feel the spirit of “a new way of living” everywhere: from the new layout designed by Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola to the opening speech by Gaetano Marzotto.
The president of Pitti Immagine talked about a demanding customer that requires a more responsible fashion: “2010 is the year of energy, creativity, quality but most of all from excellent service and logistics”.
What’s hot for him: limited edition
Fashion is about being special. Whether he is casual, sporty or elegant, the new trend is “limited edition”.
Cavalleria Toscana, for example, has invested in a very strong identity that refers to the world of the “contemporary knight” with his tight jackets, fitted pants, and horsemens’ accessories. There are only few pieces and the logo is neer visible. The name Cavalleria appears on the external side of buttons, nearly invisible.
AnnaPurna chose a POP-ART collection for autumn/winter 2010-2011. Here too we find the limited edition: only 12 of each item are made and they have numbered labels.
What’s hot for her: renovation

Do you have an old coat you love but it’s a kind of out-of-fashion? Maybe it’s good quality and you wish that you could transform it into something really in style? That’s what Gentucca Bini is doing. She re-invented the concept of renovation and evolution, in a priority of style over brand, a style that will change every season.
The idea was originated from a thorough analysis of the historical, social, and economic context in which we are living. If around the end of WWII, ladies started to modify existent clothes to improve their style, why shouldn’t we try it now, perhaps infusing it with a sense of irony?
By Gentucca Bini offers different services to different customers. For individuals, her atelier offers – by appointment – the possibility to renovate clothes, relying on Gentucca style. For fashion companies, Gentucca renovates entire outdated collections previously created by other fashion designers. Thus the renovated clothes will be re-branded with the by gentucca bini label next to the original one, and sold in different single-brand stores.
