The Settimana Musicale Senese (music week) put on by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena is one of the summer’s top classical music events, now in its 67th year. The 2010 edition is scheduled for July 9 to 17.
Amongst the highlight’s of the 2010 season is the world premiere of an opera based on texts by Anaïs Nin, commissioned by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena and by the London Sinfonietta, performed by soprano Cristina Zavalloni.
