From April 4th 2012, the Crucifix (41.3 x 39.7 cm), attributed to Michelangelo, will be on display at the National Museum of the Bargello.
The work has been finally placed in the florentine museum after eight years since it was first shown to the Italians.
Since then, the Crucifix was exhibited at the Museo Horne in Florence in 2004, then in the Biblioteca Reale of Turin in 2006 and finally once it got acquired by the Italian Government, between the end of 2008 and beginning of 2010, it was the focus of exhibits in various cities (Rome, Trapani,Palermo, Milan and Naples).
At the end of this tour, the work was inspected and was subject to extraordinary maintenance.
Finally, after years of study, the Crucifix is now visible to everyone at the Museo Nazionale del Bargello!
