Walk among nature, culture and food at the slopes of the Apuan Alps

The Spring Eating-Walk (Mangiawalking della Primavera) returns, a 17-km loop walk along ancient paths through chestnut and olive groves and through small medieval villages, with spectacular views of the Apuan Alps.

An opportunity not to be missed to discover unknown corners of Lunigiana and Garfagnana and to visit ancient churches and convents, passing through the medieval villages of Pieve S. Lorenzo, Argigliano, Codiponte, Luscignano and Casola in Lunigiana.

An event started in 2016 on the initiative of a group of Nordic Walking practitioners and the local Pro Loco and well received by walkers. Volunteers from the Pro Loco and local associations have thus rediscovered and made practicable ancient rural paths and inter-municipal stone roads once routinely traveled by the inhabitants of small villages on their way to the capital city.

Not only nature and breathtaking landscapes, the Mangiawalking is also a gastronomic walk during which to enjoy good zero-km food, such as Marocca di Casola, an ancient bread with chestnut flour, now a Slow Food Presidium, all washed down with excellent local wine.

The appointment for the departure is Sunday, May 19, in Piazza della Torre di Casola, from where we will start at fifteen-minute intervals between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. in groups accompanied by Pro Loco volunteers.

The event is strictly “Plastic free”.

Reservation mandatory by May 13:
