Terme di Saturnia Spa and Golf Resort

The well-being offered at the Terme di Saturnia Spa is offered by Nature, in all of tis various aspects, and mainly form the hot, sulfuric water that has flowed for 3000 years form the thermal spring. The thermal water flows underground, slowing filtering the rock for some 40 years before entering the thermal pools. This means that whomever is bathing in the thermal pools in Saturnia are bathing in rainwater from 40 years ago! During these long 40 years, the water descends to subterranean layers of the earth until almost 700 meters down. The principle characteristic of the water in Saturnia is due thanks to the presence of two types of gas: hydrogen sulfate and carbon dioxide. These gases are beneficial to our bodies and skin. In 2005, the Terme di Saturnia resort and spa welcomed 19,000 guests. The thermal pools attract over 250,000 people a year.

About 49 percent of clients are women, and 51 percent are men. Eighty-five percent of clients are Italian, mostly from the northern Italy, while foreign typically hail from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the United States. Located in the province of Grosseto, the Saturnia Spa and Golf Resort is in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, and is housed in a ancient village made of travertine stone. It is l200km from Florence and 170 km from Rome. The complex boasts 140 rooms and is complete with all of the modern comforts. It also contains meeting rooms, five hot and cold pools with hydro massage, a 18-hole golf course, a golf practice course, a gold academy, tennis courts, a hairdresser’s, an art gallery and 15 small villas scattered throughout the property.
