Arezzo Wave Love Festival 2012

July 12-15: fun for all in Arezzo!

More than 100 events: July 12 to 15 in Arezzo, the 26th edition of Arezzo Wave Love Festival. After five years of traveling Italy (Florence, Livorno, Lecce), the Italian music festival returns to the city where a born. Expect tonnes of music but also theater, literature, comics, dance, art and new art, electronics, children's area, and a new section dedicated to spirituality and a surprise concert Sunday morning at dawn. Expect to see Caparezza and Yann Tiersen, Crookers and Bandabardò, Malika Ayane and Nina Zilli, Fuel Fandango and Batida, Don Gallo and Dori Ghezzi, comics by Diabolik, dance performances of Sosta Palmizi, film of John Belushi, sufi songs, peace events, and more.

Created under the banner of "New agreements against the crisis," Arezzo Wave Love Festival 2012 will, in large part, offer admission free and will require paid entrance tickets for "special" concerts that will nonetheless be affordable. In accordance with the ideas of the artistic director Mauro Valenti the festival this year will be a mix of familiar names and talents and new ones that waiting to be discovered by the general public. An example of this are the Dutch group Mala Vita; the organic dance music of the Spanish group, Fandango Fuel (July 12); the rock'n'roll tunes of Dutch DeWolff (July 13); the Magnificent Lady of Slovenia (July 14); and the psychodelic folk-pop of Vadoinmessico (July 14). In short, these new talents will make musical progress at Arezzo Wave.

Arezzo Wave will involve the entire city and is divided into three main stages: the Main Stage at the Stadio Comunale, the Wake Up Stage and the Stage Pshycho set up to Colle del Pionta. Among the guests who will perform on Main Stage are Il Teatro degli Orrori and Caparezza (July 12), Ewert and The Two Dragons, Erica Mou, Malika Ayane, Nina Zilli e DeWolff (July 13), Orchestra multietnica, Mc2, Yann Tiersen e Crookers (July 14), Radiodervish, A67, Caravan Palace e Bandabardò (July 15).

The festival offers as an anti-crisis solution through the opportunity to buy a special subscription ticket of 30 euros to watch all of the events taking place on the Main Stage. Also, the cost entrance to watch the 4 nights of music by entering the stadium before 20:00 will be only 20 euros!

The other two stages also provide original performances: from 10:00 to 19:00, visitors can watch all concerts by groups participation in the Italy Wave Band and The Tuscany Project That Sings competitions. There will also be more hot Italian musical realities on stage: don't miss among others, Bidiel, Don Pasta, Radiohead (July 12), Wall of Song, And The Birdies honeybird and LN Ripley (July 13), blastema, Monks of the surf, Mr. T. Bone (July 14), The State and Social Offlaga Discopax (July 15).

Take part in the festival is also the editorial staff of XL magazine, which has always supported good music and Italian talents. The designers will make illustrations for the public next to a very special stand, where Tibetan monks will perform a colorful sand mandala of peace.

After the evening concerts, visitors can continue at Sugar Reef Musicology with the events of Elettrowave. In addition to the winners of the Elettrowave Challenge competition expect to see UK DJ Erol Alkan on (July13) and the best artists of the Berliln label, Get Physical (July 14).

But the festival this year is not all about music. The busy program of Arezzo Wave also includes the exhibition "Diabolik: A Life in Black", open every day from 10:00 to 19:00 in the Atrio d’Onore of the Province of Arezzo. There will also literary readings by Don Gallo and Dori Ghezzi; readings by Davide Enia (July 13); and evenings organized in collaboration with Feltrinelli.

Other noteworthy event include the theatrical performances: the Sosta Palmizi theatre company will perform "Urban Monkey," an experience of dance and a flash-mob; meanwhile for a new exhibition devoted to spirituality, Soulwave are planning a mandala of peace as well as performances of Sufi songs and meetings with Tibetan monks.

A special area is dedicated to contemporary art is "Potencial Escultorico", in which Marlon de Azambuja will build in an uninhabitable area Stadium, on show daily from 19.30. Among the film screenings is a tribute to John Belushi, and there is even something for kids (6/11 years): the "Arezzo Wave Chubby Land," a miniature city where children can enter and win a "chubby" toy, such as an array of musical instruments, jewelry and more.

And for those who choose the festival and these unique experiences, Arezzo Wave offers myriad educational workshops. Dance, theater, percussion, film, photography ... there's something for everyone!

The main stages of Arezzo Wave 2012 will be live on the webtv of the festival, thank to the a partnership with the website, www.intoscana.it and the technology services of Clouditalia. Another novelty this year at Arezzo Wave is also the new "technology realm" that allows the public to surf the internet for free in the performance areas.
