Tuscany is full of amazing opportunities for full immersion nature itineraries and the Tuscany Walking Festival 2010 from April to November opens up a whole new world in this unique corner of paradise.
One step after another to gain time. A sequence of slow movements that take on a different significance thanks to the theatre that hosts and orients them. Design your ideal route on a non-existent map marked by stops and starts that take shape in an area that is more than just the one under your feet and in front of your eyes, but that transcends geographical borders to root itself in the heart and mind.
In the protected natural and hospitable womb of the parks, the Walking Festival takes six parks and multiples them by hundreds of events. The result is an event able to erase the sea that divides the coast from the islands. The festival is composed of steps that uncover extraordinary places, a meeting between desire and consciousness, and a necessity of sharing one s emotions and experiences.
There are six nature parks in Tuscany. However one decides to undertake the journey and order their steps to meet with others, every park offers its visitors total immersion in the movement that hides spaces of interpretation inspired by places and emotions.
Whether walking for exercise or for sightseeing, discovering the secrets of the parks and nature reserves, investigating the Mediterranean landscape and its rarity.
The geo walk Head out on itineraries that speak of minerals, metals, geomorphology and geology. Get philosophical as you contemplate the parks geological past.
The healthy walk Bach flowers, medicinal herbs, conferences on the benefits of movement, Nordic walks, flavors, local traditions. Landscapes that end in tastings at farms, agriturismi and lodges, through pine woods, vineyards and chestnut groves, the kingdom of bees and honey, silkworms and liquors.
The historic walk From prehistory to the Etruscans, the Liguri-Apuani to the powerful Romans, the Middle Ages to the Medici and the Lorena. From the Este to Napoleon and the Savoy, walking in silence where the only sounds you hear are sunsets, voices of the night, the springtime sky, the sunrise on the seashore or on top of a mountain as you climb towards the rising sun.
