The ‘Boss’ comes to Florence

Eight years after his historic performance at Franchi, the Boss is back with his E-street Band. Springsteen’s Italy tour has been confirmed for the summer of 2012 with three events: Milan’s Stadio Meazza (June 7), Florence’s Stadio Franchi (June 10) and Trieste’s Stadio Nereo Rocco (June 11). Claudio Trotta’s Barley Arts will be organizing the concerts and tickets will go on sale at various times. Tickets for the San Siro show will be available online at Ticketone.it starting 4pm on November 24.

Tickets for the Florence and Trieste performances will be go sale on Thursday, December 1. Only four tickets at a time can be purchased. Springsteen’s last appearance at San Siro was in 2008, during a legendary concert which gathered together no less than 60,000 fans. Multiple law suits against promoter Claudio Trotta ensued, as he was accused of ‘Disturbing the peace’ when Springsteen and his band offered the audience 22 minutes of encore. In 2009 Springsteen played in Turin, Rome and Udine. In regards to the singer’s upcoming tour, Trotta appeared particularly satisfied, ‘I thank Florence mayor Matteo Renzi and Trieste’s mayor Roberto Cosolini, as well as the Assessor of Productive Activities  in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Federica Seganti—they have all shown utmost collaboration and the will to bring this top level performance to their citizens.’
