In Pisa “Women of Italy. Half of the unity”

Palazzo Blu for the 150th anniversary

Pisa celebrates women and the 150th anniversary of Italian unity with its exhibit, “Women of Italy. Half of the unity” at Palazzo Blu, from March 16 to June 26 2011.

For the special anniversary, the exhibition tells the story of the country through the voices and stories of women.

The exhibition will consist of a series of rooms that tells the story of the women, who worked toward building the future. The exhibit focuses on women who participated in an active way, although anonymously, to the construction of the nation, from the years leading up to unity until today.

Every room will be an installation where, photographs of famous authors and famous film clips will be displayed. The most important, however, is the famous words uttered by thirty women, each of which has chosen to give her message about the unification of Italy.

Entrance is free.

Hours:
Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
(last entrance, one hour before closing)
Closed Monday

You can also visit the exhibit by booking a guided tour. Prices are as follows:
Group: 60,00 euro (max. 25 people)
Schools: 40,00 euro (max. 25 people)
