Imagine a castle made of grey stone with a large scenographic piazza at its centre. The castle is located near Montevarchi, Arezzo, just a stone's throw from the Chianti. Starting May 2010, over 500 sculptures from the 1800 and 1900s will populate the castle: bronzes, woods, plaster, terracotta, ceramics, marble. All of them positioned on red brick shelves with a blue background to create a unique and modern atmosphere. The sculptures will for the first time emerge from deposits and the artists' house-museums and put on public display.
In rooms specific rooms throughout the castle, visitors can admire the creations of artists like Michelangelo Monti, Timo Bortolotti, Arturo Stagliano, Alberto Giacomasso, Mentore Maltoni, Valmore Gemignani, Firenze Poggi and Donatella (Dodi) Bortolotti. These in addition to the works of Pietro Guerri, Elio Galassi and Ernesto Galeffi, which belong to the town of Montevarchi.
