For centuries, the volcanic Monte Amiata has been an attraction and expansion of energy. In recent years, many foreigners and Italians have flocked to the area to learn more about alternative arts. There are many Salon and Spa centers in the area, as well as many experts that practice the oriental arts. Among these is Sweden-born Christine Persson, a Reiki specialist and Feng-Shui expert. Also a visual artist, Persson creates canvases and paintings that are inspired by the oriental concepts of harmony and well-being. She moved to Amiata, in Montegiovi, in 1993 and she studied the external environment. “The Nature here is beautiful”, she says, “but Nature is not everything because we live in close contact with our internal soul and our immediate spaces”. Feng-Shui is the art of creating harmony between the internal soul and its immediate physical surroundings.
“It does not take much…a flower, a plant, a bit of color, a painting, a smell, moving around furniture…these are all details that allow people to feel like the owners of a happy home, or create a welcome guest”. Persson is available to help those interested in creating Feng-Shui in their homes. She can offer ideas and consult with both private clients and hotels.
