Picturesque scenery, excellent flavors and beautiful music are the ingredients for the Melody of Wine Festival, the event that is celebrated in Tuscany featuring a host of tastings and concerts.
The festival gives guests the chance to discover the region's history, art, food and wine from June 28 until July 8, 2011. Visitors can relish in the 11 days of events surrounded by Tuscany's vineyards and scenery, including performances by outstanding musicians and orchestras.
Melody of Wine Festival was founded by Michel Gotlib and Marc Laforet, the same founders of of the French “Grands Crus Musicaux,” a cultural initiative which has celebrated the French region of Bordeaux for the past 10 years.
Each evening of the festival will explore a new location in Tuscany. From the Teatro Verdi in Florence to the Castello Banfi in Montalcino, festival-goers will enjoy concerts by some of the best European artists. As the music plays, you taste high-quality wines, relating specifically to the area where the concert takes place, making the festival a great opportunity to experience six different locations and six different kinds of wine.
The opening concert will be held at the Teatro Verdi in Florence on June 28 with the melodies of pianist Yulianna Avdeeva, the lastest winner of the prestigious Chopin Competition in Warsaw.
On June 30, Argentinian pianist Nelson Goerner will delight the audience at Villa Le Corti in San Casciano Val di Pesa. The beautiful backdrop of Gavorrano will host the July 2 at Frassinello, where Krylov and Marc Laforet will perform a duet of violin and piano.
The closing event of the festival takes place in Maremma on July 8 at Roccastrada, where John Bellucci, one of the world's most acclaimed contemporary pianists will serenade his audience.
