Third edition of the Walking Festival put Tuscany at centre stage! The region is full of amazing opportunities for full immersion nature itineraries and the Tuscany Walking Festival 2011 is sure to open up a whole new world in this unique corner of paradise.
Expert guides will lead trekkers through these incredible areas of the Tuscan Archipelago: here they will also taste local foods and wines while awaking through area's rich in history and nature. Excursions will also take place in the following: regional park of the Apuane Alps, the regional park of Migliarino, San Rossore and Massacciuccoli, the Provincial Park of the Monti Livornesi, the Interprovincial Park of Montioni, the Val di Cornia Parks, the Regional Park of Maremma and the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.
From the Livorno mountains to the Val di Cornia, Tuscany's natural parks will reveal nature in all of its splendour! With the spring cycle of events which is now over, the 2011 Tuscany Walking Festival returns in September with a host of events and thematic excursions that will lead participants alongside expert guides through the region's most enchanting paths to discover local foods and products.
The September cycle of events begin in the Migliarino-San Rossore-Massaciuccoli Regional Park from September 3 to October 30. Excursions will take place in the Massaciuccoli Oasis, the San Rossore Estate, and the mouth of the Serchio River. From September 15 to October 15, excursions will take place in the Interregional park of Montioni; while from September 24 to November 1 walks will be organized in the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago. From October 15 to November 13 is the period to explore the the Apuan Alps regional park, while the last events during autumn will take place in the Maremma Regional Park in the month of October.
From the mountains to the seaside, through Tuscany's marshlands and countryside, pines, cultivated fields and pastures that are rich in scents and aromatic herbs and plants. Wild and breathtaking panoramas and views accompany visitors through a unique experience that is sure to be remembered for a long time!
Excursions are thematic and feature collateral events and activities to further explore the park and its flora and fauna.
