Summer of concerts in Tuscany

Following is a brief guide for getting organized for the long and hot Tuscan summer. Concerts range from pop to rock and are all held in exceptional venues. The fun begins on June 16 with Bob Dylan in concert at the Cittadella del Carnevale in Viareggio.

Opera Festival 2010—from musicals to pop
The Opera Festival returns to the extraordinary Boboli Gardens for this year’s summer extravaganza. The festival follows its amazing success of 2009 where it was the most popular event of the summer. See http://www.festivalopera.it for more information.

Italia Wave Love Festival
July 21 to 25 in Livorno. Five intense days of great live music with three bands during this unique and exclusive summertime event. Italia Wave boasts concerts every day beginning at 10am. The Wake Up stage and the Psycho stage are near the seaside at the Rotonda d’Ardenza. Concerts go into the afternoon with an area dedicated to comics, literature, cinema and author meetings at the Fortezza Vecchia at the Livorno port. These events are free. The Main Stage is located at the city stadium and hosts a free concert the first night. A 60 euro pass gets you into the next four nights (July 22 to 25). You must purchase the pass by June 30.
