Estate Fiesolana is back: the festival running from June 20 to July 26 dedicated to music, cinema and theater will take place between June 20-July 27 in Fiesole, Vaglia and Florence. The inauguration will take place on June 25 in the Teatro Romano in Fiesole with Marchioni and a performance of the work of Venturi, one of the 20th century's most important artists on the tenth anniversary of his death.
In the programme is an event with bassist Dave Holland, who arrives July 17 at the head of a formidable quartet of musicians, including guitarist Dave Eubanks and drummer Eric Harland.
Accordion player Richard Galliano will star on July 10 at the Roman Theatre, with an original tribute to Nino Rota, mixing sounds with jazz and South American rhythms.
The American guitarist Eric Johnson (July 14), in addition to the concert, presents a Masterclass that will be held in only two European dates - in Fiesole and London - while as part of an Italian project on the bill is a tribute to Malcolm X by Francesco Bearzatti (9 July), with the Tinissima Quartet.
Vivere Jazz is completed with two concerts at the Library Gardens in Pratolino. Among the brilliant musicians of Florence performing are Luca Gelli, Andrea De Donato, Lucia Sargenti, Francesco Cherubini, Matteo Giannetti, and Leonardo Volo.
Simone Cristicchi will be onstage at the Fiesolana (July 4), with a tribute to Sergio Mendes: songs poignant, humorous and topical songs, arranged in an orchestral version and juxtaposed with Mozart's concerto for piano and orchestra in D minor.
A sculpture show by Giuseppe Gavazzi, who won a Fiorino at the Biennale Internazionale d'Arte in Florence.
