Mark your calendars for the weekend of June 16 and 17 to see the beaches of the Etruscan Coast receive the Blue Flags award from the European Union (Livorno: Antignano an Quercianella; Rosignano Marittimo: Vada, Castiglioncello and Cala de' Medici; Cecina; Marina di Bibbona; Castagneto Carducci; San Vincenzo; Piombino: Riotorto-Parco Naturale della Sterpaia).
Come celebrate the beginning of summer with this great event, the Notte Blu, which is full of concerts, markets, shows, theme dinners, local product tastings, museums, beach parties, shopping, promotions, and more! There is one common denominator: the color blue for the flags, sea, and sky.
Here are some of the many initiatives scattered along the coast:
- Beach party in Cecina, on the beach of Gorette, a fun event for young people from all over Tuscany. It starts at 19 with a drink on the beach and the party continues until 5 am. There will be a range of music, from rap and funk to commercial music. There is a shuttle service from Cecina and Cecina Mare Centre. For information, call 392.5741986, 338.6528989
- Argentine Tango in Livorno, on the waterfront Mascagni Terrace, around the gazebo. The event, which has acquired great importance, is organized by the Ixnous. Starts at 21.
- Barontini Cup, one of the oldest and most anticipated rowing competitions of Livorno. The race will take place in the Pontino district.
- Still in Livorno, on Sunday afternoon, there is a tour of the ri'ordi: the original boat tour with animation on board in the Livorno vernacular. A fun trip on a boat along the canals of the "ancient Venice" area, accompanied by two actors of the vernacular tradition from Livorno. For information and reservations, call 3487382094
- Night at the Museum of Natural History of Livorno .... Taste Livorno fish soup and other delicacies from the sea. The event will take place in the Hall of Cetaceans in the museum. For information, call 320.3546762 or email info@cacciucco.org
- Cabaret and fireworks (23.30) in Marina di Castagneto Carducci, in piazzale Magellano
- Young talents come the forefront in San Vincenzo for the selection of the International Junior Talent Award. The competition is open to children and teenagers aged 4 to 16 years, who show talent in entertainment (singers, musicians, dancers, actors, designed for advertising, film, television). - Historical archery tournament called the Torneo Sagitta Toscana "Arcieri Costa Etrusca". The event will take place on the beach of San Vincenzo on Saturday 16 at 17.00

- In Montenero there is an event with three-wheeled bicycles
- Romance and Wellness at Happy Hour at the Spa: massages given under the stars according to ancient Chinese medicine. The event is held at the Hotel Terme di Caldana Venturina. For the massage, you can choose from two ancient cultures: the ancient Chinese medicine and an olive oil massage from the Mediterranean tradition. Special treatments and massages are also offered.
