The Astronomical Observatory in the Pistoia Mountains

It’s possible to visit the Observatory in the day or at night and study the sky and planets

The Astronomical Observatory in the Pistoia Mountains has two observation domes for studying the sky and a projection room which can also be used for scientific meetings.
The observatory was opened as an open workshop for scientific activities, research and educational activities for schools. The centre promotes a range of didactic activities in collaboration with school teachers and adult learners.

Opening hours
Please book visits by calling the Biblioteca Comunale on 0573 621289.
Tuesday & Thursday: sun observation 9am-12pm
Friday & Saturday: observation of the night sky 9pm-11pm/12am
In July and August, the centre is also open on Monday evenings.
