The “Guglielmo Lera” Pavilion and the “Massaciuccoli Romana” Archeological Area

The recently constructed pavilion was built near the ancient Roman structures located along Via Pietra a Padule. The museum visit includes visits to the ancient Roman ruins and thermal springs, located on the hillside.The artifacts on display date back to the Roman era and were found in the area of the thermal springs and villa in Massaciuccoli, which date back to the 1st-2nd century AC. Other artifacts date back to the Lombard era to the 17th century. Among the noteworthy items displayed is the mosaic pavement, found in 1935, from the Roman era. It is decorated with animal motifs and features a double frame.

 

Opening hours:
Winter: closed Mondays; Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 1pm; Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 4:30pm.
Summer: closed Mondays; Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 12:30pm and 4:30pm to 7pm.
