“La Via Artusiana”: a tribute

A curious and decisive gourmet able to understand the tastes of the people and the places he encountered before getting down to work in the kitchen so that he could reconstruct the tastes and then capture this way of life and ancient culture in writing: this was Pellegrino Artusi, born in Forlimpopoli but Florentine by adoption, cultivator of homemade recipes from all over Italy—but especially ones from Romagna and Tuscany—in the late 1800s.

One hundred years after the death of the great gastronome, Folimpopoli and Florence celebrate his greatest work with a prestigious calendar of events that introduces the modern traveler to the places and dishes that once bewitched Pellegrino Artusi along the via del Muraglione.

It is an exciting journey that will lead travelers and accompany them as they taste Artusi’s recipes along the roads that lead to the Muraglione pass—roads that mingle with the art and naturalism of their surroundings.
