The discrete and elegant Versilia Spa (Terme di Versilia) is at Cinquale di Montignoso, just 50m from the beach on the famous Versilia Riviera, in Tuscany. The spa is also just 3kms from Forte dei Marmi, a famous tourist hot-spot. Versilia Spa is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the quiet and calm of a place dedicated to taking care of oneself. Well-being and relaxation are key words here. The medical and spa treatment staff are all highly trained professionals and help visitors by suggesting appropriate treatments. All this takes place in a comfortable, relaxing environment equipped with all the latest technology. One of the things which makes Versilia Spa unique is the fact that thermal water is often combined with therapeutic mud from Massaciuccoli Lake in many of their treatments.
The spa’s thermal waters rise up from a spring 90m underground and result from saline deposits left from the Tirreno Sea during the formation of the Apuane-Versilia coastline. The thermal water comes up in the centre of the park and is rich in sodium, bromine and iodine. The waters were named ‘Undulna’, in honour of the poet Gabriele d’Annunzio. The thermal waters are used in combination with therapeutic mud from Lake Massaciuccoli, which was made famous by Maestro Giacomo Puccini and is unique in Italy. It was created by deposits left thousands of years ago when the lake was formed. Scientific research has shown that this mud is highly therapeutic. It is used in combination with the spa waters in treatments such as face and body masks and is excellent for treating skin conditions such a psoriasis, acne, dermatitis and cellulite. Furthermore, this special mud helps skin recuperate elasticity and softness, while also increasing circulation and toning.
