Morellino di Scansano wine

Morellino di Scansano wine is without doubt one of the most important wines produced in the Maremma region, if nothing else for its huge commercial success over the last few years. Its high sales have nothing to do with passing trends or fashions though, there is a long history of wine making in this area and local producers have worked hard to obtain the highest quality wine possible.

At the heart of this fruity wine are Sangiovese grapes. The fruit of other red grape vines is also used such as the Ciliegiolo, the Alicante and the Colorino. The DOC area stretches south east from the town of Grosseto and has a very special micro-climate influenced by the vicinity of the coast which contributes to the wine being so well balanced in taste.

Morellino is a fruity, fresh wine with spicy tones which, as it ages, manages to maintain all its flavour.
