Honey is both easily digested by the body and is a rich source of energy.
Thanks to these virtues, honey has long been used to cure a variety of ailments. The diverse climatic conditions and the varied fauna of the Valtiberina region create an environment with a range of aromas and flavours that really distinguish the area’s different types and qualities of honey.
Many different types of honey are produced here in fact, including acacia honey, chestnut honey, sunflower honey and many more. Local beekeeping is mainly small scale and each producer carries out their work with passion and enthusiasm, always respecting ancient methods and traditions. Several beekeepers produce only organic honey – they keep their bee hives far from possible sources of pollution and close to organic areas. Their bees are looked after using only natural products and methods.
