Half-day cooking class will take place at Erika's biological farm and will be taught in English language. She will share with you her experience, family recipes, biological and healthy products. Our package "Bio-organic Cooking Classes in Maremma" is valid from March 1st to October 31st 2010, costs Euro 249.00 per person and includes: - 2 nights in Classic Double Room at Grand Hotel Bastiani in Grosseto (downtown) - Rich buffet breakfast in the morning - Half-day cooking classes taught in English language in a bio-organic Farm in the surroundings of Grosseto. Lunch or Dinner all together to taste the prepared dishes cooked by yourself. Wine and typical Tuscan liqueurs are included. - Guided tour at the Rural Civilization Museum of Rocca di Montemassi and visit to the cellars: wine and olive oil tasting. (3 wines, olive oil, grappa, bruschetta and salami). First of all you will experience firsthand how to choose the right ingredients, picking them up directly from Erika's kitchen garden: fruits, aromatic herbs, eggs from the chicken house. In case of market-day, she will accompany you to the market-place and help you choosing the freshest, in season ingredients among local genuine products. Secondly you will learn how to prepare a traditional, 4-course Tuscan meal, from appetizers to our typical dessert "Tiramisù", including "pasta fresca" with tasty fillings and sauces, and a meat or vegetarian second course. You will be ready then to sit all together around the table and enjoy what you have prepared. At the end of the course a certificate and the recipes will be given to you so you will be able to bring them with you and enjoy your Italian experience with your friends. Suggestions: the price does not include transport. We suggest you to rent a car to enjoy the best of Maremma. NOT TO BE MISSED: "Morellino di Scansano" and "Bianco di Pitigliano". "Morellino" is one of the best loved DOCG Tuscan red wine produced in Maremma area: the wine is actually made from a type of grape called Sangiovese, a common ingredient used to make Tuscan wines like the Chianti. Sangiovese grapes produce a slight spicy and strawberry-like flavor. "Bianco di Pitigliano" is a DOC white wine. The grapes come from vineyards in Sovana, and are grown on spurs and guyots, on tuffaceous soils. It is known for its straw yellow color with greenish glint and its soft flavor. It has a dry, well balanced taste with aftertaste slightly bitterness.
