Badia Tedalda

A destination for pilgrims and monks throughout the centuries

The village of Badia Tedalda is on the crossroads between three regions, Tuscany, Romagna and Marche, along the Via Romea: followed throughout the past centuries by pilgrims and monks. The little centre, in fact, keeps intact the charm of the mountain village, which is gathered around the Church of St. Michael (11th century) that has Robbia-style terracottas from the XVI century.

HIGHLIGHTS
Outside of the centre, the sanctuary of the Madonna del Presale, of which the little church and the ancient hermitage remain, is worth a visit. It is a land of discreet and tranquil charm, to be discovered immersed in nature, walking along the ancient paths of the Natural Reserve of the Alps della Luna, among woods of beeches, where the remains of old charcoal pits can still be seen.

GETTING THERE

Badia Tedalda is easily reached by bus, either directly or Via Sansepolcro, or by car, following the A1 motorway exit – Arezzo. Then you just need to follow the SS73 to Sansepolcro, then the SS258 Passo di Viamaggio Badia Tedalda. For those coming from Rimini you just need to come onto the SS258 Marecchiese direction Novafeltria-Badia Tedalda.
