Marina di Bibbona is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Etruscan Coastline. The town originally grew up around the eighteenth century fort which was built here to defend the area from pirate attacks.
There is a long stretch of sandy beach, dotted with sand dunes and patches of typically Mediterranean scrub. Pinewoods of juniper border the beach and provide a shady refuge. There are both private beaches and 'Punti Azzuri', or public beaches, with basic services.
