The crystal clear and intensely blue sea laps the long sandy beach edged with green Mediterranean scrub. Behind the dunes there is a wonderful ancient pinewood which is full of wide open spaces and is ideal for taking a stroll, cycling or horse-riding. There are also picnic tables and games areas. The beach itself is a mix of traditional private establishments and public areas.
Visitors can try their hand at any water sport or fishing. There are several swimming and sailing schools, as well as stables and a clay pigeon shooting range. The port is large and well equipped. Many of the town's hotels, guesthouses and campsites are set in quiet, green areas.
