Between tradition and innovation, the exhibition-market that has been bringing the world's crafts to Florence for nearly 90 years

Every year Florence hosts MIDA - the International Handicraft Exhibition, a diverse artisan world that remains tied to tradition while managing to be in constant evolution, moving between ancient techniques and high-tech technologies.
The Fair takes place at the Fortezza di Basso and attracts hundreds of Florentines and tourists, of enthusiasts and the curious, attracted by the possibility of discovering a huge variety of products, made not only in Florentine and Tuscan workshops, but also in workshops in other Italian regions and around the world.

Founded in 1931, it was the first craft exhibition-market in Italy. Today, alongside stands that tell of skills handed down from generation to generation, there are self-productions, design and emerging forms of digital crafts.

The International Handicraft Exhibition is typically held from April 25 to May 1.
