Carnival in Foiano 2011
If you are thinking about traveling to Tuscany in February you shouldn’t miss the Carnival of Foiano della Chiana, close to Arezzo. It’s one of the oldest of Italy: this tradition started in 1539 (471 years of experience in Carnival!) .
Basically there are four rival districts: Bombolo, Rustici, Azzurri and Nottambuli. Each team works hard for a whole year trying to build the most beautiful carriage and in the last day of the parade a special jury decides which of them is the winner.
Carnival of Foiano – Event Details
The parade starts at 3pm and goes until 7pm in the center of the city .
Tickets cost Euro 8,00 for adults; Euro 4,00 for children from 6-12 years; Euro 7,00 for groups with more than 30 people.
It could be a good idea to book a hotel for the weekend: there’s a special price for a double room half board: Euro 50,00 (check it here)
